Job summary

Woodlands Hospital in Darlington, part of Circle Health Group, has an opening for a Materials Assistant in the Materials department. This full-time, permanent role is 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern.

You will manage day-to-day stock control, process orders, maintain paperwork, and support internal customers with timely materials; some healthcare supplies experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• GCSE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in PC use, including Word and Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Experience in a healthcare supplies setting is desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Active member of the Materials Department, involved in day-to-day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through correct ordering and replenishment for central stores or hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files with accuracy and currency.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Salary: Up to £25,859.89 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Woodlands Hospital in Darlington is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Materials Assistant to join their team of staff in theMaterials department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• You are an active member of the Materials Department, involved in the day to day running of the department.
• Provide an effective and high-quality materials management service to all internal customers.
• Ensure stock availability through the correct order processing and replenishing of pre-approved stock and products for central stores or on behalf of hospital departments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork and files in good order with reference to accuracy, appropriateness and availability.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of GSCE/O level Mathematics and English or equivalent.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative without close supervision.
• Experience within a healthcare supplies setting desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
