Job summary

Dana Canada Corp. is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Planner to coordinate purchase schedules and production plans for prototype orders, ensuring timely supplier communications and stock availability.

You will manage inbound materials, KPI targets, and collaboration with Production Planners and Operations Management to support new projects and freight logistics. A proactive, continuous improvement mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have previous supply chain experience, ideally in a Tier 1 automotive environment.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a team.
• IT proficiency including spreadsheets, email, and SAP.
• Strong communication to all levels including supplier organizations.

Responsibilities

• Control issue of purchase schedules and production plans aligned with manufacturing plans for prototype orders.
• Communicate key supplier information including on-time delivery, shutdown dates and program changes.
• Control inbound materials from suppliers using ASNs, usage data and stock levels.
• Maintain stock levels within KPI targets to avoid shortages and excess inventory and premium freight.
• Support Production Planners, Operations Management and internal customers by ensuring material availability for new projects and organizing freight as required.
• Apply continuous improvement to Scheduling, Production Planning and Supplier Delivery processes.
• Manage suppliers and develop working relationships with measurable outcomes.
• Ensure balanced stock depletion when programs end, maintaining supply to completion and avoiding obsolete stock.
• Collaborate with team members to maximize productivity, efficiency and cost reductions.
• Own all tasks and responsibilities from start to finish.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. To control the issue of purchase schedules and production plans aligned with manufacturing plans on prototype orders
2. To communicate to supplier's key information including on-time delivery performance, shutdown dates and significant Program changes.
3. To control inbound materials from suppliers using ASNs, usage data and stock levels
4. Maintain stock levels within KPI targets avoiding shortages and excess inventory and premium freight.
5. Support Production Planners, Operations Management and other internal customers by ensuring material availability for new projects and organizing freight as required
6. Work using a continuous improvement approach and develop improvements to the Scheduling, Production Planning and Supplier Delivery process.
7. Manage suppliers building working relationships and key measurable
8. Ensure balanced stock depletion when programs end, maintaining supply to completion avoiding excess obsolete stock.
9. Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency and cost reductions.
10. Full Ownership of tasks and responsibilities.

Education and Qualifications

• Due to the fast-paced nature of this role, candidates must have previous, relevant Supply Chain experience ideally in a Tier 1 automotive environment.
  2. Ability to work under pressure within a team environment.
  3. Comprehensive IT skills essential including spreadsheets, E-mail and SAP.
  4. Ability to communicate to all levels in both this and supplier organizations
  5. Experience of managing supply situations and overseeing supplier improvement action plans
  6. Occasional requirements to work outside of core hours to secure parts for the production lines.
