Job description

Job title:Materials Planner

Location:Rochester, Kent

Salary: £25,000 – £26,000 dependant on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure Works Orders are serialised including clear job material shortages
  • Manage work order closure, tracking and batching size of work orders
  • Review and process MRP exception messages
  • Liaise with Procurement, Inward Goods, Stores and the Shop Floor
  • Manage rework order release and internal allocation
  • Control of electronic and physical movement of material, both internally and to vendors

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer focus
  • Stock deliveries and replenishing
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
  • Educated to GCSE level

Desirable:

  • Material planning stock control
  • Dispatch, checking stock levels
  • Experience of managing work order closure, tracking and batching size of work order

The Materials Planner Team:

This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for material planning using a Material Resource Planning (MRP) program as part of a Windows based business system to ensure the availability of material for the manufacture of the company’s products. Working within an Integrated Project Team (IPT) release Purchase Requisitions and Works Orders to buy components and build assemblies in accordance with a delivery schedule. Communicating the requirements and status both within the IPT and extended internal team.
