Job summary

Vickerstock is partnering with a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation to appoint an Operations Supervisor - Material Preparation in Derry. You will manage the day-to-day Material Preparation department, oversee material flow, planning and team performance to ensure timely supply to fabrication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in material handling in heavy engineering environments
• At least 2 years' experience supervising or leading a material handling team
• Solid understanding of quality standards and inspection processes
• Experience with production planning and workflow management
• Proven track record of meeting production targets and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain steel nesting layouts to support material procurement and production
• Plan, organise and prioritise the daily workload of the Material Preparation team
• Determine the most efficient routing of materials through internal processing equipment and subcontractors
• Manage subcontracted material processing activities to ensure on-time delivery and quality
• Oversee steel inventory management, stock locations and traceability
• Maintain accurate production schedules and material tracking systems
