Job description

Smart Manufacturing Solutions are currently seeking a Material planning controller for one of our clients based in Stockton On Tees. Possessing a proactive attitude, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team. Working on dayshift only you will be responsible for controlling all material stock onsite and procurement of any shortfalls or requirements. Duties will include monitoring and maintaining stock, maintain relations with suppliers and customers, problem solving for urgent customer demands and working with the internal MRP system.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective forecasting of material requirement for the business and procurement
  • Ensure that Material stock levels within MRP system are maintained.
  • Co-ordinate and manage deliveries of material to site ensuring receipt of such material is processed within MRP system.
  • Monitor inventory level of material on site and with suppliers to ensure it is maintained according to business targets.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of material.
  • Maintain contact with suppliers on a regular basis, via face to face, telephone and electronic communication and participate in supplier audits in conjunction with Quality representative.
  • Problem solving for sudden changes to schedules or requirements.
  • Calculation and maintenance of planned material inventory levels and buffer stock.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to share best practice and to manage internal supply chains
  • Identify opportunities for business improvements within the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of CAD software would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience within an industrial environment would be beneficial but not essential

Working
Hours:

  • Dayshift Only - Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00, Friday 07:00 to 13:30

Holidays

  • 25 days per year plus bank holidays
