Job Purpose

In line with the Global Planning Processes and Policies, as well as local Planning Procedures, provide Material Planning analysis and support to the Manufacturing (REMS) Organization. The Planner will support the REMS Organization, monitoring and expediting Material Demand, influencing Material Supply Strategy, performing Commodity Planning and offering Material Analysis, Interpretation & Intervention in support of Master Production Schedule(s) commitments. The planner will provide advice and guidance to other functions related to Material Management.

• Manage Master data in SAP
• Execute MRP manually or via SAP to identify demand, inventory, and supply needs
• Commodity Planning
• Consumption Based Planning
• Support Product Standardization/Utilization
• Plan externally procured materials
• Manage Exceptions / Deviations to the plan for externally procured materials
• Manage Inventory Levels
• Maximize inventory turns
• Minimize logistic costs by developing a distribution logic
• Control material allocation and escalate when a conflict exists

The Planner should have a good understanding of the activities and equipment associated with Materials under their sphere of influence.

Job Description

• Create and review new material master extensions or changes in SAP for externally procured or subcontracted materials
• Validate use of project vs common stock following standards and procurement strategy
• Work in commodity planning with procurement and engineering to define strategy per commodity
• Work with sourcing and procurement to define planning strategies
• Plan externally Procured material by developing, executing, and analyzing MRP and managing exceptions
• Release purchase requisitions to buyers
• Provide progress reports on externally procured materials
• Implement and execute Consumption Based Planning
• Manage inventory levels to maximize inventory turns
• Process Engineering Changes (ECN’s) and ensure data accuracy in SAP
• Maintain plant material masters and bills of materials
• Provide support, guidance, and training on material management processes
• Develop distribution plans to reduce logistic costs
• Control material allocation and escalate conflicts

Candidate Profile

You are meant for this job if:

• Minimum Degree Level preferred in Business Administration, Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering or Technical Discipline
• Minimum of 6 to 9 years of relevant experience
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing and processes
• Appreciation of the Engineering Execution Process (EEP)
• Practical understanding of Engineering BOMs and documents
