A reputable manufacturing firm in South Manchester is seeking a Material Planner to optimize material flow in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in Material Control or Supply Chain roles, strong SAP ERP skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering a competitive salary between £30k and £32k.

We're hiring a Material Planner to support between Warehouse and Supply Chain functions and ensure the flow of materials into a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal for a Material Control, Warehouse Management or Supply Chain professional with strong ERP skills using SAP, along with advanced Microsoft Excel experience.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, control, and optimize the delivery and flow of all materials to support Just-In-Time production requirements.
  • Ensure materials arrive at the correct assembly area upon receipt of material to goods in.
  • Lead the investigation into all instances of missing materials, identifying root causes (e.g., incorrect delivery, system errors, misplaced stock).
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to anticipate material requirements and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse to maintain picking schedule is forecasted accurately to prevent under/over picking.
  • Oversee the receiving process for all incoming materials, ensuring accuracy against production orders and adherence to specified delivery requirements.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Material Control, Planning, Warehouse or Supply Chain position.
  • Experience using SAP ERP system is essential.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with a pro-active attitude and initiative.

Location: South Manchester

Contract - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Salary - circa £30k - £32k
