Job summary

A prominent manufacturing company is hiring a Material Planner in South Manchester to support Warehouse and Supply Chain functions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Material Control and be proficient with SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities include optimizing material delivery flow and collaborating with production teams. Contract length is 12 months with a salary between £30k - £32k.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Material Control, Planning, Warehouse or Supply Chain position.
  • Experience using SAP ERP system is essential.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control, and optimize the material delivery flow for Just-In-Time production.
  • Ensure materials arrive correctly to the assembly area upon receipt.
  • Investigate instances of missing materials and identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with production teams to anticipate material requirements and identify bottlenecks.
  • Maintain an accurate picking schedule with the Warehouse.
  • Oversee the receiving process for all incoming materials.

Overview

Over 100 years in business, and over 10 years in the orderbook our client are a well-established and fast-growing Manufacturer looking for your skills!

We\'re hiring a Material Planner to support between Warehouse and Supply Chain functions and ensure the flow of materials into a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal for a Material Control, Warehouse Management or Supply Chain professional with strong ERP skills using SAP, along with advanced Microsoft Excel experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, control, and optimize the delivery and flow of all materials to support Just-In-Time production requirements.
  • Ensure materials arrive at the correct assembly area upon receipt of material to goods in.
  • Lead the investigation into all instances of missing materials, identifying root causes (e.g., incorrect delivery, system errors, misplaced stock).
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to anticipate material requirements and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse to maintain picking schedule is forecasted accurately to prevent under/over picking.
  • Oversee the receiving process for all incoming materials, ensuring accuracy against production orders and adherence to specified delivery requirements.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with a pro-active attitude and initiative.

Location: South Manchester

Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: circa £30k - £32k
