Job Opportunity: FLT Operator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world-leading global organisation. Our client, a leading FMCG company with brands such as Domestos, Comfort, Persil & TRESemmé, is currently looking for a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Operator to work in their prestigious facility in Port Sunlight. This is a temporary position, with an immediate start, expected to last 4 months (to be reviewed). The pay rate will be £20.28 per hour, based on 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements
  • FLT license (COUNTERBALANCE) accredited by RTITB or ITSSAR, refreshed within the last 3 years.
  • Availability to work shifts covering a 24/7 pattern, Monday to Sunday, following a 5-crew shift schedule:
    • 2 x 12-hour days, followed by 2 x 12-hour nights, then up to 6 days off (currently).
    • During summer (End Q2, beginning Q3), 2 x 12-hour days, 2 x 12-hour nights, then up to 4 days off, including an 18-day paid break.
  • Flexibility to be on call during the first 3 days of off-shift periods for sickness coverage.
  • Availability to work bank holidays and scheduled holidays.
Candidate Profile

We seek a highly motivated individual eager to enhance their technical skills, with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. The candidate should:

  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve faults on high-speed production lines.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and hygiene, complying with safety standards and site regulations.
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with colleagues and managers.
  • Work well within a team to meet and exceed factory targets.

Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment, or educational background in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous mechanical or technical qualifications and experience are advantageous but not essential.
  • Good IT literacy skills are highly desirable.
