Job Description:

We are working with a client in Houghton Le Spring who is experiencing growth in the Food Manufacturing sector. We are recruiting for a Material Handler with team leading experience to support their expansion. This role offers a long-term career opportunity with a company committed to investing in its employees.

Duties:
  1. Lead a team responsible for supplying production departments to meet the production plan and efficiency targets.
  2. Operate in production areas such as Mixing and Packing.
  3. Plan weekly staffing and inform the team of targets and progress.
  4. Monitor and control production functions across shifts, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
  5. Maintain product safety, hygiene standards, and GMP.
  6. Report incidents beyond your scope to supervisors.
  7. Enforce safety regulations, including PPE usage.
  8. Manage team performance and training, ensuring product quality and process standards are met.
  9. Support technical monitoring and quality assurance processes.
  10. Gather performance data daily and maintain documentation.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Hygiene standards, HACCP, and Technical Standards
  • Computer literacy
  • FLT Trained
Additional Information:

Work shift: 2 rotation shifts (Days and Backs)

Pay Rate: After 12 weeks, day shift increases to £12.75-£13.60 per hour plus allowances
