Material Handler

Summary

A Material Handler I position is available in Tacoma, Washington at Milgard Windows and Doors. Candidates should have prior experience in a warehouse environment, including loading trucks and lifting up to 50 pounds. Forklift certification is required, with in-house certification available. Experience in shipping, preferably within a window manufacturing environment, is preferred.

The hourly wage ranges from $22.00 to $24.00, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform departmental activities according to standard operating procedures.
• Unload vinyl bundles, receive into the Frontier system, and store in designated inventory locations.
• Assist with operating the vinyl insert bundle machine and cutting sample chips.
• Receive and verify materials against packing slips.
• Ensure orders are complete and accurately documented.
• Secure loads properly to prevent damage.
• Maintain inventory stock levels and fulfill orders as directed.
• Handle all shipment paperwork accurately, noting discrepancies.
• Receive raw materials, verify, and label correctly.
• Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Use personal protective equipment appropriately.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in material receiving and handling is preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification is mandatory; in-house certification available.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Good hand-eye coordination and color discernment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged standing, repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling are required.
• Strong hand dexterity and strength.
• Overtime, including some weekends, may be necessary.
