Job Description:

The Amazon EUSC Process Engineering (PE) Team is seeking a proven technical leader with extensive experience in leading continuous improvement projects, applying planning and engineering principles to operations. This role involves developing and implementing process improvement initiatives within the logistics and distribution industry.

As a PE, you will collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders, including operations, network planning, labor planning, and service performance, to design and improve our Sort Centers' flow processes, challenging existing operations. Your skills will be applied in areas such as:

  • UTR Flow continuous improvement, tech integration, and implementation
  • Applying engineering principles, developing processes, and improving operations
  • Building strong relationships across organizations to further business objectives
  • Managing complex, quick-turn projects with sound business judgment
  • Defining business models to track improvements
  • Assessing process transformation opportunities and partnering with process owners and stakeholders
  • Training, coaching, and mentoring field operations teams to leverage tools and systems effectively

The role requires strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to innovate solutions that enhance customer experience. Candidates should be capable of creating and presenting documentation for senior executives, analyzing root causes with data, and leading teams with analytical and quantitative skills. Willingness to travel up to 30%. Role open to other locations within the UK.

A day in the life:

This involves conducting observations and audits to identify process enhancements, recommending changes, and managing projects to implement new processes. You will be based at a site, influencing operational efficiency, and may analyze other sites as needed. Sharing ideas with the EU network and using data to drive improvements are key aspects.

About the team:

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is central to Amazon’s success, utilizing air, sea, road transport, and advanced sortation centers. The team uses data to inform decisions, prioritize safety, and innovate in logistics operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics, or a technical field
  • Experience in supply chain, transportation, project management, or management consulting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis
  • Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
  • Proficiency in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MBA from an accredited university
  • Management experience in logistics, distribution, or transportation operations
  • Experience developing or implementing automation and material handling solutions
  • Familiarity with optimization tools (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi) and simulation modeling (e.g., Flexsim, Arena)
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  • Support tools experience (e.g., Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, MS Access)
