CTR Group is seeking a Mechanical Material Expeditor / Planner for a Ship Repair Company in Portsmouth, VA. The position will support material planning for Submarines.

PAY RANGE: NEGOTIABLE

Summary:

We are seeking a Material Expeditor / Planner to support the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Engineering and Planning Department Code 265, focusing on Submarine Mechanical/Piping. Responsibilities include utilizing technical manuals, drawings, sketches, hit kits, and job summaries; planning and applying Engineering Methods & Standards for cost estimates; obtaining vendor and contractor estimates for material assemblies; supporting procurement of all types of materials, including Level One IAW Navy’s Level I Program (NAVSEA 0945-LP-045-7010), Mil Spec, Rentals, Services, and Hazardous Materials in accordance with Navy, Corporate, and OSHE standards. Familiarity with NAVSEA/NNSY computer programs such as IHS, MAT, WEB MRQT, AIM, E-MALL, SHOP STORES CATALOG, LEVEL ONE TOOL KIT, NAVICP, and CDMDOA is required. The role involves using Web MRQT and Web MATP, which are public ship databases. You will perform ship checks for interference, support development of production estimates, and prepare technical documents like Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions (TGI’s), and Deficiency Forms (DF’s). Knowledge of NAVSEA instructions related to the installation of Non-Nuclear Temporary Services and Shipyard Support System for Naval Vessels is a plus but not mandatory. The mission of this branch is to provide engineering services for US Navy SSN/SSBN including Moored Training Ship Conversion.

Requirements:
  • Mechanical Material Expediting and Planning experience required.
  • Experience developing Submarine mechanical/piping cost estimates.
  • At least 3 years of experience using technical manuals, drawings, sketches, hit kits, and job summaries in material expediting & planning.
  • Support ordering all types of materials, including Level One IAW Navy’s Level I Program (NAVSEA 0945-LP-045-7010), Mil Spec, Rentals, Services, and Hazardous Materials in accordance with Navy, Corporate, and OSHE standards.
  • Proficiency with NAVSEA/NNSY computer programs/applications such as IHS, MAT, WEB MRQT, AIM, E-MALL, SHOP STORES CATALOG, LEVEL ONE TOOL KIT, NAVICP, and CDMDOA.
  • Must have at least a Confidential Security Clearance.
