Customers from diverse industries such as oil and gas, energy, mining, mechanical engineering, ship technology, rail, and commercial vehicles rely on their advanced technologies.

Job Description

· Responsible for managing the flow of product, components, and supplies into the local business and onward to end users.

· Monitor inventory levels and demand on the ERP system and place appropriate purchase orders with the parent company.

· Expedite and prioritize orders with the parent company, using available tools to interrogate the ERP system for relevant information. Coordinate with freight companies on shipment progress if required.

· For non-product-related procurement, ensure the business has suitable suppliers for all required goods and services, such as office supplies, consumables, PPE, tooling, etc. Raise purchase orders and liaise with the Finance Manager on budget control for various categories.

· Manage service exchange units on the return trip to the parent company for remanufacturing.

· Ensure all customs and freight documentation is prepared to optimize goods importation. Work closely with the Finance Manager and sales colleagues to agree on and implement safety stock levels.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Materials Controller should have:

  • Previous experience in purchasing goods and/or services.
  • Experience operating forklifts; if license is expired, training can be provided to reinstate.
  • Flexibility, as part of a small onsite team, offering opportunities for further development.
  • Experience with an ERP system is essential; training will be provided for the specific system in use, Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a sense of urgency.
  • Good analysis and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • High level of PC literacy, especially in Excel.
