Job Title: Material Controller

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset

Rotation: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off

Position: Permanent

Main Purpose

The Material Controller manages onsite equipment, materials, and consumables, ensuring calibration and availability align with the delivery schedule.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage stock levels to ensure suitable and efficient equipment availability.
  • Act as the Inspection Equipment Focal Point, controlling all incoming and outgoing inspection equipment, consumables, and materials.
  • Process orders using SAP for equipment, materials, and consumables.
  • Manage calibration schedules and equipment replacement.
  • Perform stock checks as needed.
  • Track equipment utilisation and attrition, reporting monthly to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain good housekeeping.
  • Manage goods receipt via SAP.
  • Support inventory flow management.
  • Conduct spot checks on equipment and facilities.
  • Perform minor repairs to ensure equipment availability.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding lead times and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare equipment packs for handover.
  • Act as site equipment focal point per SAL-INP-NDT-PRO-007.
Experience and Qualifications
  • 5 years in a similar role (desirable).
  • Strong relationship-building and commercial awareness.
  • Proven track record.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
