About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated materials chemist to join our team in October 2025 to provide maternity cover within our core materials team. In this role, you will contribute to the synthesis and development of perovskite nanocrystals. This is a hands-on, research-focused position ideal for someone with a strong background in perovskite materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the synthesis of perovskite nanocrystals and develop scalable synthetic methods.
  • Develop purification and post-processing methods to improve efficiency and reliability of materials.
  • Prepare stable nanoparticles dispersions for ink formulations.
  • Study structure/property relationships, degradation mechanisms, and relate to particle and dispersion properties.
  • Characterise materials using various techniques.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders through communication.

Experience and attributes:

  • Masters degree with 2+ years industry experience or PhD in chemistry, materials science, or related field.
  • Research background in Perovskite, quantum dots, or colloidal nanocrystals.
  • Experience with materials synthesis, nanoparticles synthesis, colloidal chemistry, and formulation chemistry.
  • Hands-on experience with techniques such as optical microscopy, absorption, photoluminescence, TEM, NMR, GC/LC-MS, XRF, DLS, SEM, XRD, FTIR.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities, proposing ideas, and driving projects.
