Job description

Location: On-site at SPFL Stadiums in Kilmarnock

Contract: Casual/Freelance

Hourly Rate: £12.50 plus holiday pay

Start Date: ASAP

What The Job Is All About:

As a part-time Match Day Technician, you will be working on-site at football stadiums in your region, playing a key part in the delivery of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to the SPFL. You will have direct ownership over setting up and assisting in the operation of the system.

As you grow in the role and become a more experienced member of the team, you will gain exposure to various other services. We will provide you with the technical training, foundations, and full exposure to our systems to perform your day-to-day tasks, while also encouraging development and progression to help make an impact on what we do.

On a match day, you will arrive at the stadium 5 hours before kick-off, and our duties are not complete until 1 - 2 hours after the final whistle. You’ll not only need to be prepared to regularly work at weekends but also be available for mid-week evening fixtures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting up Hawk-Eye technology in the stadium (this can involve physically demanding work, such as rigging cameras and running cables);

  • Conducting pre-match checks both on-pitch and in the broadcast area;

  • Liaising with stadium staff, match officials and host broadcasters;

  • Monitoring the system during the match.

  • Assisting the team with troubleshooting any issues that occur;

  • Operating the RRA (Referee Review Area) monitor;

  • Maintaining our hardware and equipment;
