Job summary

CELEROS Flow Technology in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Planner to own the Closures master schedule and drive SAP-based planning across demand, capacity and material availability.

The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing planning, S&OP expertise, advanced Excel and data analysis, and the ability to influence across functions to protect on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing planning, master scheduling, or supply chain planning.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, MRP, and BOM/Routing.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and govern the Closures master schedule for demand, capacity, material availability, and production execution.
  • Create and maintain detailed master production and material plans in SAP to drive MRP, capacity planning and production execution.
  • Lead the S&OP cadence, aligning demand, supply, capacity and revenue outlook.
  • Identify and manage constraints including long-lead forgings, supplier capacity and internal capacity.
  • Coordinate across functions to remove bottlenecks and protect on-time delivery.
  • Validate customer commitment dates against material availability and lead times.
  • Develop what-if scenarios to support rescheduling, expediting and subcontracting decisions.
  • Provide visibility of revenue risk, margin impact and inventory risk based on schedule constraints.

Job description

  • Own, maintain and govern the Closures master schedule as the single source of truth for demand, capacity, material availability, engineering release, supplier readiness, subcontract activity and production execution.
  • Create and maintain detailed master production and material plans in SAP to drive Engineering deliverables, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), capacity planning and production execution in support of AOP.
  • Lead the Closures Sales and Operations Planning / SIOP cadence, aligning demand, supply, capacity, revenue outlook, customer commitments and operational constraints across functions.
  • Identify, manage and upscale critical path constraints, including long-lead forgings, engineering release, inspection requirements, supplier capacity, subcontract activity, material shortages and internal capacity limitations.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Commercial Operations and Supply Chain to remove bottlenecks, agree recovery actions and protect customer on-time delivery.
  • Validate customer commitment dates against material availability, engineering readiness, supplier lead times, inspection requirements and internal capacity before dates are confirmed externally.
  • Develop what-if scenarios and recovery options to support decisions on rescheduling, resequencing, expediting, outsourcing, subcontracting, overtime, inventory exposure and customer delivery commitments.
  • Provide forward-looking visibility of revenue risk, margin impact, working capital exposure, inventory risk and delivery recovery options based on schedule and supply constraints.
  • Run and control MRP to support production flexibility, material availability, inventory targets and reliable execution of the agreed master schedule.
  • Drive planning data integrity in SAP, including customer required dates, demand dates, purchase order promise dates, material availability, BOM and routing readiness, lead times, capacity assumptions and schedule adherence.
  • Establish and manage clear escalation triggers for schedule risk, material shortages, supplier delays, capacity overload, engineering delays, inspection constraints and customer delivery exposure.
  • Support Commercial Operations during quotation and order intake with realistic lead‑time, capacity and feasibility assessments.
  • Manage and communicate long‑lead and advance‑order requirements where early material or supplier commitment is required to protect delivery performance.
  • Track, report and drive improvement against key planning and delivery metrics, including COTD, schedule adherence, MRP accuracy, revenue plan adherence, inventory turns, late purchase order exposure, engineering release adherence, capacity utilisation and supplier promise‑date reliability.

  • Experience of S&OP / SIOP, demand and supply balancing, rough‑cut capacity planning and constraint management.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to connect planning decisions to revenue, margin, working capital, customer commitments and operational performance.
  • Ability to challenge unrealistic demand, supply or delivery assumptions constructively and influence cross‑functional stakeholders where direct authority may not exist.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate schedule risk and recovery options clearly to senior leaders.
  • Structured problem‑solving mindset, with the ability to identify root causes, remove planning noise and drive sustainable process improvement.
  • Able to function with a high degree of ownership, judgement and independence in a fast‑paced, low‑volume, high‑complexity manufacturing environment.
  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a senior planning role.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing planning, master scheduling, supply chain planning or a related operational planning role.
