About the role:

The Master has responsibility for ensuring the safety, compliance and efficiency of all on-board personnel.

Key features of the role:

• Ensuring familiarisation with the SMS, working & emergency procedures on-board
• Taking command of the vessel, ensuring safety & compliance
• Instructing crew adequately on their daily duties, ensuring their skills are monitored and training is evaluated
• Promoting safe navigation
• Implementing and promoting safe working practices
• Ensuring the compliance with maritime legislation
• Regular communication with the shore based Marine Manager and DPA. Working closely with them to ensure that customer requirements are met.
