Trump Turnberry is seeking a Massage Therapist to deliver exceptional spa experiences to guests and members, adhering to Forbes luxury standards. You will perform treatments, consult on injury concerns, and maximise spa revenue through product upsell and cross-sales to spa guests.

Educated to SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Massage/Sports/Beauty Therapy, you will bring strong English communication skills, IT proficiency, and 2+ years of luxury hospitality experience.

Qualifications

• Educated to SVQ/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Massage/Sports/Beauty Therapy.
• Proficient in operating IT and online systems.
• Must have strong English communications skills—both written and spoken.
• Previous experience in a similar luxury hospitality environment preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out an in-depth consultation with each client prior to treatment to tailor the massage plan.
• Discuss injuries and determine safe continuation of activity for participants.
• Recommend and administer massage treatments to alleviate pain and rehabilitate injuries.
• Advise on exercise plans and additional therapies to restore function and mobility.
• Maintain treatment room stock, hygiene and safety procedures in line with spa standards.
• Prescribe appropriate aftercare and advise on ongoing treatment recommendations.
• Ensure guest experience by maintaining quiet, professional spa environment.

PROPERTY

The diversity of the product offering encompasses a luxury hotel, self-catering apartments, group lodge accommodation, spa & health club, championship golf and stables located across the grounds of the 800-acre resort. Trump Turnberry is owned and managed by The Trump Organisation.

JOB PURPOSE

Massage Therapists are responsible for delivering an exceptional experience and outstanding levels of services to guests and members in all aspects of the Spa operation in line with Forbes luxury standards. Responsible for maximising revenue opportunities through up-selling of spa products and cross sales to other areas in the Spa & Resort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Carries out an in-depth consultation with each client prior to treatment, ensuring medical conditions, history and concerns are identified to allow the therapist to determine the most appropriate massage treatment plan.

• Discuss and assess any injuries with client to determine whether the sport and exercise participant should continue safely with the event or activity.

• Discuss with client causes and areas of pain, then agree massage treatment to alleviate pain, relieve discomfort and rehabilitate injuries by using massage therapy techniques.

• Where appropriate, advise clients on exercise plans and therapeutic treatments (such as deep tissue, full body or facial massage) to assist in restoring function and mobility.

• Undertake reflexology by massaging pressure points in feet that relate to different zones of the body.

• To ensure that all operational and treatment procedures are carried out in the prescribed manner and that the highest standard of service is maintained throughout.

• Prescribes appropriate aftercare to guests, advising on ongoing treatment recommendations including therapeutic treatments (as above) and complimentary therapies such as aromatherapy & reflexology.

• In consultation with client, recommend and administer appropriate aromatic oils, using the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer.

• Maintains linen and product stock levels within the treatment rooms, ensuring all linens are clean and organised as per the Spa standards.

• Follows treatment room opening and closing procedures correctly, reporting any maintenance issues to the Spa Duty Manager.

• Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements set out in Spa Risk Assessments.

• Performs all treatments to an exceptional standard, as per the protocols and standards taught in formal and in house training, whilst tailoring to the client’s specific needs.

• Updates own knowledge of products and treatment brand standards, outside of formal training on product ranges and from Head Therapist/Assistant Spa Manager.

• Protects the guest experience by moving quietly around the treatment room and in corridors.

GUEST RELATIONS

• Maintains the highest standard of guest service by following Spa and Forbes standards and protocols and displaying genuine care and attention to detail.

• Consistently records guest preferences, accurately updating guest profiles and communicating any relevant information to colleagues.

• Ensures confidentiality at all times including data protection, medical details and any information provided in confidence by the client.

• Report any guest complaints to the Spa Duty Manager so that they can be handled promptly and effectively.

• Perform any other duties deemed reasonable by the Spa Manager On Duty, to contribute to the workflow of the department.

Education, Skills & Experience:
