Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking a MASH Social Worker to join the Front Door of Children's Services based at Colonnades House, Doncaster. You will work in a fast-paced multi-agency team to safeguard children and provide professional advice.

You will assess and screen referrals, gather information from partner agencies, determine risk and thresholds, and contribute to Early Help and Child Protection decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in Children's Social Care and child protection.
• Able to assess, analyse and exercise professional judgement.
• Capable of applying thresholds and evidence-based decisions.
• Able to work under pressure with competing demands.
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and screen contacts and safeguarding referrals.
• Gather and analyse information from partner agencies.
• Identify risk and protective factors for children and families.
• Make threshold decisions: Early Help, Child in Need, Child Protection.
• Participate in strategy discussions and safeguarding decision-making.
• Provide professional advice and consultation to partner agencies.
• Produce concise, high-quality assessments and records.
• Ensure the voice and lived experience of the child informs decisions.
