As a strategic commissioner with the Public Health Team, you will be committed to delivering impactful service which improve the health and wellbeing of our residents and addresses health inequalities across both Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. You will lead on the sexual health commissioning portfolio, with wider opportunities to work across a range of public health commissioning projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council, the focus is on transforming health and social care to improve the health and wellbeing of residents and address health inequalities. As a strategic commissioner with the Public Health Team, you will lead on the sexual health commissioning portfolio and work across various public health commissioning projects .
Collaboration is key to this role. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and community organizations to ensure services are high-quality, co-produced, outcome-focused, and offer real value for money . Your leadership will empower your team and partners to innovate confidently and deliver services that make a tangible difference to residents' lives .
This role involves overseeing strategic needs assessments to support needs-led decision-making and developing strategies to improve sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing through informed and targeted commissioning 4. You will manage complex projects and champion new approaches to service delivery 5

What You’ll Bring
You’re a strategic thinker with a strong track record in commissioning, negotiation, and leading change. You understand the challenges facing health and social care and are committed to creating services that improve and protect the health and wellbeing of our residents.
Experience of commissioning sexual health services is preferrable.
With excellent interpersonal skills, you know how to bring people together. Whether you’re working with internal teams, external partners, or community organizations, you’re confident in building relationships that drive progress.
You are committed to understanding the needs of the population and utilising resident voice to shape local service provision with a focus on continuous improvement. You can analyse complex data and produce meaningful reports which create a shared understanding of local needs, service impact and areas for development
You have the ability to plan, execute, and oversee commissioning to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

Working across the two boroughs, you’ll be based in the office for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community . Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.
