Howden Re Market Engagement & Strategy invites you to a 10-week summer internship in London. You will work with the Market Engagement & Strategy team on real client projects, gaining insight into how global reinsurance relationships are managed and analyzed.

No prior insurance experience needed; you will be trained. You should be in penultimate year of study, enjoy building relationships, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

This is not a traditional broking role. It's a relationship focused and strategic role which combines communication, organisation, project support and data analysis.

The 10-week programme is designed to give you meaningful exposure to the world of reinsurance, while helping you develop the knowledge, professional skills and confidence to kick start your career.

Better still, our programme offers a direct pathway into our Autumn 2028 graduate roles, subject to business needs and individual performance.

What you'll be doing?

You will begin with a structured induction before joining the Market Engagement & Strategy team to work alongside experienced specialists on real client projects.

During the programme, you'll:

• Take part in meetings with reinsurance companies and learn how our team manages relationships with them.
• Learn how the team gathers financial data and market feedback from internal brokers and translates this into useful market insights for senior stakeholders.
• Support with preparing materials for internal and external presentations.
• Play a key role in preparing for the Monte Carlo Reinsurance conference which will include support with arranging meetings, capturing key discussions and producing clear notes to share with the wider business.

Who are we looking for?

No insurance experience is needed; we'll teach you everything you need to know!

You’ll be:

• In your penultimate year of study from any degree background.

• Organised with strong attention to detail.
• Able to take ownership of tasks and work independently.
• Comfortable working with basic data.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced environments where priorities can shift.

To be eligible for our programme, you must have the full and unrestricted right to work in the UK.

You’ll also benefit from:

• £32,500 pro-rata over the 10-weeks.
• Relocation support may be available for interns who need to relocate to take part in the programme. Support is assessed on a case-by-case basis and subject to eligibility criteria.
