To accelerate our success and growth within the European Market, Edmund Optics Ltd. is looking for a Marketplace Product Line Manager (f/m/d) in York.

Marketplace Product Line Managers (PLM) are the visionaries within their specific standard product categories and are responsible for turning ideas into exciting new products. They develop and execute product strategies aligned with corporate goals and market demands, ensuring profitable growth. Responsibilities include market research, competitive analysis, customer feedback analysis, developing innovative products, managing product lifecycle, and collaborating with stakeholders. Some travel is required.

Essential Functions:

  1. Define and communicate the product strategy and plan for specific product areas
  2. Develop business cases, plans, and roadmaps, including forecasts and market analysis
  3. Use data-driven insights for product positioning and differentiation
  4. Develop pricing strategies supporting corporate goals
  5. Define marketing strategies across channels and geographies
  6. Host training sessions and attend tradeshows to promote products
  7. Build relationships with suppliers, partners, and customers
  8. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams for product success
  9. Monitor market trends and technological advancements
  10. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations

Qualifications:

The following are required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, or related field; four years of experience in optics, lasers, or related product support or development
  • High initiative and strong analytical skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and technical curiosity
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate into marketable features
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of financial metrics and KPIs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
