Marketing Officer (Social Media)

Salary: A GBP 29,000 - A GBP 33,000 per annum* (pro-rated depending on the agreed working weeks)
Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Marketing Officer (Social Media) to join the Marketing team.
Main Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic Marketing Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering our Social Media Strategy for the Senior School, from Year 7 to Sixth Form.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Creating and delivering the Brighton College Social Media Strategy.
- Managing all social media channels across the school, ensuring growth of followers and engagement.
- Creating content using images, videos, and graphic design tools to keep channels lively and engaging throughout the year.
- Ensuring key marketing messages for the school are effectively communicated.
- Delivering paid social media campaigns and reporting on their effectiveness.
- Keeping abreast of the latest social media trends and making recommendations for effective use of each channel.
- Taking photos and videos at events and daily school life, ensuring proper storage on our photo management systems.
- Liaising with marketing teams to share relevant content for newsletters, websites, and magazines.
- Working with staff to encourage content creation and sharing.
- Monitoring comments, likes, and shares.
- Reporting on social media channel performance over time.
- Attending school events to showcase the school's activities on social media.
- Updating website news stories regularly.
- Performing any other reasonable management requests.
Person Specifications
The Successful Candidate Will
- Have experience managing social media accounts, with a passion for education social media.
- Have a natural rapport with children of all ages.
- Be enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to go the extra mile.
- Understand social media analytics and reporting.
- Be able to write succinctly and effectively.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Have excellent proof-reading and editing skills.
- Be flexible to support the Group Marketing Director as required.
- Be a competent photographer and capable of creating and editing videos.
- Adapt writing style to match school tone of voice guidelines.
- Be highly organized, managing a busy calendar and multiple campaigns.
- React quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Have excellent IT skills, ideally with graphic design experience.
- Have an understanding of crisis management and appropriate social media use in such situations (desirable).
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week), all year round (52 weeks). There may be occasional requirements to work outside regular hours, including weekends, with time in lieu provided. We are also open to candidates interested in a term-time (35 weeks) appointment, which can be discussed further at interview.
Remuneration
A salary in the range of A GBP 29,000 - A GBP 33,000 per annum* will be offered, reflecting the individual's skills and experience. *Pro-rated depending on the agreed working weeks.
Holidays
23 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
