Compensation: circa GBP 35,000

Description

We are seeking an experienced, proactive and results-oriented Marketing Manager to join our Author Marketing Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies aimed at promoting our author programs and increasing engagement with our publishing services.

Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.

Day to day, you will be responsible for:

  • Marketing Campaigns: Create awesome marketing campaigns to boost our journals' visibility and get more authors on board.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with our publishing, digital, regional, product, and strategic marketing teams to make sure our marketing efforts hit the mark.
  • Multi-Channel Marketing: Run campaigns across email, social media (both paid and organic), our website, and events.
  • Market Insights: Keep an eye on market trends and what our customers are saying. Use this info to make our marketing even better.
  • Performance Analysis: Track how our marketing activities are doing. Report on the results and suggest ways to keep improving.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong connections with authors and publishing stakeholders. Collaboration is key!
  • Budget Management: Handle the marketing budget wisely to make sure we're using our resources effectively.

You'll need to have:

  • Experience: At least 3 years in a dedicated marketing role. Experience in publishing or academia is a plus, but not a must.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and interpersonal skills. You should be able to engage and influence people at all levels.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Organisation: Excellent organisational skills to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Analytical Mind: Strong analytical skills to make sense of data and inform decisions.
  • Creativity: A creative thinker who uses data to drive decision-making.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with email build platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar.
  • Social Media Know-How: Familiarity with paid social media platforms like LinkedIn Campaign Manager, X Ad Manager, Meta Ads Manager, or similar.

What's in it for you?

At Emerald, we value our people. Becoming a part of our team means you'll join a trusting and flexible environment and we've been flexified so you can trust that we're a truly flexible workplace. All we ask is that you attend the office once a month to come together with work colleagues. You'll also have numerous opportunities to progress your career, as well as access to professional development and the opportunity to learn new skills.

You'll receive a wide range of benefits, such as 38 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), remote flexible working, a discretionary performance bonus, 6% pension contribution and various benefits aimed at supporting your wellbeing and work-life balance such as a working from home allowance.

Please note - Applicants must be authorized to work in the UK without restrictions or sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
