The role:

This is a newly created role designed to drive further growth across Project Better Energy, with a particular focus on Project Solar, the UK’s largest installer of household solar panels. The role comes at an exciting time as we work to accelerate the business, building on recent investment to take it to the next level.

The focus of this role is to grow our B2C customer base through a combination of advertising, content creation, branding, and campaign planning. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact by developing and overseeing creative projects, ensuring brand consistency, and contributing to PR and video content to support our ambitious growth goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work alongside our agency partners to plan and execute marketing campaigns, including channels like TV, radio and direct mail
  • Plan and create content for marketing initiatives, including ads, articles, videos, and other promotional materials.
  • Coordinate with our external PR agency to deliver PR campaigns that enhance the company’s brand awareness, reputation and positioning.
  • Work with the internal design team to create and update sales collateral, including brochures, presentations, and flyers.
  • Support the development of brand positioning, design and identity of Project Solar and establish this amongst our target audiences
  • Collaborate closely with designers and copywriters to ensure brand consistency across all channels.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience and Expertise: Proven track record in marketing, internal communications, or a similar dual-focus role, with a strong understanding of both external marketing campaigns and employee engagement strategies.
  • Marketing Knowledge: Solid understanding of digital and offline marketing principles, including customer referral programmes, advertising campaigns, and PR initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and convey ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Creative and Strategic Thinking: A creative thinker who can bring fresh ideas to marketing and communications strategies, while also taking a structured approach to planning and execution.
  • Relationship Builder: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across teams, including leadership, HR, design, and external partners.
  • Content Creation: Experience developing engaging content for marketing channels such as blogs, websites, social media, and internal communications platforms.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience developing and overseeing marketing campaigns that deliver to sales and branding objectives, from briefing through to execution and review.
  • Strong knowledge of how marketing drives business results, especially including creative effectiveness, digital and traditional advertising and brand building.
  • Experience in creating and managing engaging content across multiple channels.
  • Experience in budget management, ensuring cost-effective use of marketing resources
  • Strong ability to understand a customer and develop campaigns and messaging that resonate with them
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with external agencies and partners
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to improve marketing performance
