Job summary

Transport Friendly Society Ltd is seeking a Marketing and Growth Lead to translate the Business Plan into a focused programme of campaigns, communications, digital activity and stakeholder engagement that delivers measurable growth and supports member outcomes.

The role leads campaigns from brief to delivery, collaborates across teams, uses insights for product development and manages a small marketing team, with hybrid working and three London office days.

  • Experience delivering integrated campaigns with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong project and campaign management, including budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Translate the Business Plan into annual and quarterly priorities with a campaign calendar.
  • Lead integrated campaigns from brief through approval, production, launch and review.
  • Coordinate channels (mail, email, website, social, workplace) and development activity.
  • Provide marketing and member insight to support product development and refinement.
  • Work with the CEO, Compliance and Operations to ensure evidence-led activity.

Salary £50,000 to £55,000, dependent on experience

Working pattern Normally three days each week in the London office, with flexibility around business needs, campaigns and events

To lead Transport Friendly Society's marketing and growth activity, turning the Business Plan into a focused programme of campaigns, communications, digital activity and stakeholder engagement that delivers measurable and sustainable growth while supporting good member outcomes. The role will also provide marketing and member insight to support product development and product changes.

Main role and duties
Marketing and growth planning
  • Translate the Business Plan into annual and quarterly priorities, with a campaign calendar and delivery plan.
  • Recommend priorities based on member need, opportunity, return, budget and capacity.
  • Bring pace, structure and accountability to delivery.
Campaign delivery and performance
  • Lead integrated campaigns from brief through approval, production, launch, follow-up and review.
  • Coordinate direct mail, email, website, social media, workplace channels and Development activity.
  • Set clear measures and report on applications, APIV, conversion, cost, retention and other key outcomes.
  • Use results to improve future activity and stop work that is not delivering value.
Digital, data and insight
  • Improve email, segmentation, website journeys and digital lead generation.
  • Represent marketing requirements in website, mailing-list, CRM, portal and related technology projects.
  • Use member, product, employer and regional insight to improve targeting and decisions.
  • Provide marketing, customer and market insight to support product development and refinement.
  • Support launches and changes through audience definition, proposition development, testing, communications and launch planning.
  • Work with the Chief Executive, Compliance, Operations and advisers so activity is evidence-led, deliverable and consistent with member needs and regulatory requirements.
Development, stakeholder and brand support
  • Support employer access, workplace activity, lead follow-up and regional growth.
  • Support stakeholder engagement with employers, transport-sector organisations and appropriate partners.
  • Maintain the TFS brand and tone of voice across member communications.
People, suppliers and governance
  • Manage and develop the Marketing Assistant.
  • Brief and manage designers, printers, mailing providers and other suppliers.
  • Build Compliance and Consumer Duty review into planning from the outset.
  • Work constructively across the Society and invest time in productive relationships.
Skills and experience
  • Broad, hands-on marketing experience with substantial personal ownership.
  • Evidence of delivering integrated campaigns and measurable commercial, acquisition, retention or engagement outcomes.
  • Strong project and campaign management, including budgets, dependencies, deadlines and approvals.
  • Commercial confidence and the ability to interpret results and recommend action.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship-building and constructive challenge.
  • Experience of managing or developing a colleague, supplier or agency.
Highly desirable
  • A recognised professional marketing qualification, such as the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing, Chartered Marketer status or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, a mutual, membership organisation or another regulated environment.
  • Experience of supporting product development, proposition work and product launches.
  • Practical knowledge of marketing automation, CRM segmentation and website conversion.

  • Creative and full of ideas, while able to prioritise and complete work.
  • Practical, organised and comfortable with modest budgets and a small team.

Package and benefits
  • Competitive salary of £50,000 to £55,000, dependent on experience.
  • Employer pension contributions matching employee contributions up to 10% after three months' service.
