Job description

SYR are a leading brand in the world of shore based maritime recruitment. Founded in 2020, the company has grown to build a solid and impressive international network and a committed team of recruiters and back office support.

With ongoing growth plans as a business, we are now looking to invest further in our marketing efforts with the hiring of a Marketing graduate into the team. Initially offered as a 6 month position on a semi-remote basis, the suitable candidate will need to be based in Hampshire or be content to visit the Southampton area at least once per fortnight.

An exciting role, the Marketing Graduate will work closely with the team on building the brand profile and image, with the following duties:

- Supporting the CEO across the execution of a company-wide marketing strategy

- Management of Linkedin and Instagram accounts

- Launch of Youtube & TikTok accounts

- In partnership with the recruitment team, create engaging video and image content for release across all social channels

- Work with the team to create blog posts and news articles

- Share industry news from across the maritime space

- Support the team in creating a number of ‘pitch packs’ for sending out to potential clients

- Usage of Mailchimp and the Company CRM in the generation of regular mail shots and managing all incoming enquires to the business as required.

- Joining team members at a host of local and international yacht shows and events to create engaging content

For this role we are seeking an individual to join us in a graduate role. Initially on a 6 month contract but with scope for extension, the role will suit a recent school leaver or graduate with a keen interest to join a business that is highly active in the maritime space.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

- A strong understanding of all major social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and Youtube

- The ability to take quality video and still imagery mainly on iPhone

- An ability to undertake basic video and photo editing for social media using the likes of Canva or Photoshop

- Either good copywriting ability or a solid grasp of using AI to create engaging copy

- An outgoing personality and willingness to reach out to people online, via email or in person

- The ability to travel (likely short trips in western Europe)
