Role Overview
The role of the Events & Marketing Coordinator is to support the Events & Marketing Manager in day-to-day tasks related to the delivery of events, member services and marketing. The role is based in our Woking office with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays, depending on the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administration for events, marketing and member services
- Liaising with venues leading up to event on dietary requirements and final numbers
- Coordinate and create weekly news, press releases, exhibitions, marketing campaigns and any other communications from Surrey Chambers of Commerce
- Respond to members’ requests and enquiries and deliver a high standard of customer service ensuring bookings are accurate and all invoicing is completed on a regular basis
- Help facilitate on-the-day logistics of events including event staffing, providing badges, delegate lists, literature etc.
- Taking ownership of a selection of events and seeing them through from concept to delivery, running all aspects of an event where required
- Deliver tactical marketing campaigns via the website, social media, newsletters, literature etc
- In conjunction with the whole Membership team, support the marketing and promotion of Surrey Chambers of Commerce, delivering campaigns to increase recruitment and retention of members and delegate numbers at events
- Create brand collateral, including videos, flyers, programmes
- Record all relevant information on the CRM system (Rubi) in a timely and accurate way
- Deliver all other requests as required by the Events & Marketing Manager and provide support to new projects as needed
Key Skills and core competencies
- Excellent Communication skills with experience of delivering these skills in person, by telephone and by e-mail
- Ability to prioritise and organise their time
- Excellent admin skills and strong attention to detail
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with businesses through networking and event attendance
- Demonstrate confidence in contributing ideas and sharing suggestions to support business growth and development
- Able to follow set processes but also able to improve them
- Good team player
- A passion for speaking to businesses and helping them
- Experience using marketing platforms such as Canva
- A keen eye for design or experience creating professional corporate marketing materials
