Job description

As a global, private equity-backed corporate business, we work at pace with demanding customers, supplying equipment across a wide range of markets. As the Marketing Director, you'll control a GBP 1M budget, delivering a comprehensive marketing strategy capable of delivering double-digit growth. You will have complete accountability over core marketing channels, digital, branding, and internal and external communications.

Salary: GBP 90,000 - GBP 110,000 + 20% STIP

Location: Home Based

Commutable locations: Ideally based in the Midlands, including Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton, Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Coventry, or Wolverhampton.

Job Description: Marketing Director

You will play a vital role in directing the marketing function and strategic development of the brand in the UK. This position requires a dynamic leader proficient in ensuring the visibility of the marketing function, partnering with key stakeholders to ensure consistency with both our internal team and external customers.

Role: We are looking for a candidate with robust commercial acumen, capable of implementing strategies, engaging in process transformations, and surpassing customer expectations, while keeping the internal team engaged and involved in the journey. Key elements of the role include:

  1. Management: Provide leadership and mentorship to the marketing team, ensuring high engagement, professional development, and alignment with company objectives. Collaborate with the leadership team to drive strategy and performance.
  2. Marcomms: Own the development and execution of trading and campaign planning, developing engaging campaigns for various markets, sectors, and audiences. Oversee internal and external communications, delivering the customer value proposition across all channels, including bids and tenders literature. Foster colleague engagement through effective messaging and communication strategies.
  3. Digital and CRM: Lead digital marketing efforts, managing websites, CRM systems, and data journeys. Work closely with agency partners to ensure seamless execution.
  4. Branding: Review and refine the customer proposition to align with market expectations and brand positioning.
  5. Marketing Intelligence: Drive insights by gathering and analysing Voice of the Customer (VoC), manage NPS initiatives, and develop new product and market propositions based on feedback and trends.

Proven experience with:

  • Fast-paced manufacturing businesses, such as food, automotive, pharmaceuticals, construction, or similar, preferably within larger matrix organizations.
  • Leading and developing a remote/hybrid multi-skilled team (approximately 5-10 staff).
  • A management style characterized by visibility, approachability, knowledge, and accountability.
  • Interpreting marketing data to drive business growth.
