Urbancroft Films is a small, award-winning video production company based in Glasgow, offering end-to-end video production services for a wide range of clients. With over 18 years of experience, we produce high-quality videos and content. Alongside our commercial projects, we develop our own ideas for TV and screen through our sister company Blackhouse Films. You will work across both companies' projects in development and marketing.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

Are you a tech-savvy marketing graduate with a passion for social media and online content? We want to meet you! This role focuses on expanding our online presence and social media platforms. The successful candidate will create content (video and static), manage our channels, and promote our services regularly. You will support research for new ideas, coordinate projects, and help develop pitch decks for projects and sizzle tapes for both companies. You will also gain exposure to various aspects of the film and video production industry.

Your work will help increase our visibility, attract new contracts, and develop exciting projects for screen and broadcast. You will assist the Director with daily tasks and the development of new film projects. This role offers a comprehensive learning experience in commercial and independent video production, with responsibilities in marketing, content creation, and project coordination. Previous postholders have advanced within our company and the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Devise and execute a regular social media plan with our team
  • Set and monitor monthly targets
  • Create engaging content for social media and our website
  • Promote company services and projects
  • Maintain daily scheduled content across platforms
  • Engage followers and grow our online community
  • Create ad campaigns and analyze results
  • Update website with recent work
  • Support website development
  • Develop campaigns for client projects and company initiatives
  • Research new ideas for film projects and support pitch development
  • Create pitch decks, edit sizzle tapes, and source outlets
  • Coordinate project phases and support pre-production, production, and post-production activities
  • Travel to project locations as needed
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Essential: Member of Glasgow Guarantee recruitment pool, passion for film and TV, strong communication skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere), knowledge of social media platforms, basic video editing skills, understanding of video production and TV/film industry sectors.

Desirable: Video shooting skills, photography, Adobe After Effects & Illustrator, social media scheduling tools, e-marketing, WordPress, HTML, Google Ads, project coordination experience, driving license.

Education, Qualifications, and Training

Essential: HNC/D or BA/Masters in Media, Marketing, Communications, or related fields; up-to-date Screenskills profile.

Desirable: High competency in Adobe Suite.

Additional Requirements

The role is based at our office in Film City Glasgow, 401 Govan Road, Glasgow. Occasional UK travel and remote work may be required. Interviews are scheduled for early June, with the position starting in August 2025, due to overseas work commitments.
