Role Overview

As the Marketing Data & Insights Analyst, you will unlock growth opportunities by transforming data into actionable insight. With a blend of technical BI expertise, SQL proficiency, and a strong grasp of digital marketing performance, you’ll lead the development of dashboards, optimise campaign effectiveness, and inform strategic decisions across the business. From web and SEO analytics to channel attribution and customer journeys, your insights will directly impact how we attract, convert, and retain customers.

The role is based in Edinburgh, with hybrid working available (minimum of 3 days in the office).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise web content to improve search engine rankings and AI discoverability across traditional and emerging platforms
  • Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to drive organic traffic
  • Optimise for AI-powered and voice search technologies, ensuring content is structured for semantic relevance and featured snippet potential
  • Collaborate with internal teams and content agencies to ensure digital assets are fully optimised
  • Monitor backlinks, traffic sources and crawlability to identify growth opportunities
  • Coordinate technical SEO improvements with the in-house tech team
  • Analyse user behaviour on-site to recommend enhancements to site architecture, navigation, landing pages, and UX to improve conversions
  • Analyse performance across traditional and digital channels, including TV, press, paid search, social media, email, SEO, and affiliate channels
  • Run A/B and multivariate tests to optimise creative, messaging and targeting
  • Track customer journeys across platforms and devices to support accurate attribution
  • Deliver insight-led recommendations to improve acquisition, retention, and ROAS
  • Keep up to date with competitor tactics and emerging digital trends
  • Design, build, and maintain marketing dashboards in Looker Studio, Power BI or similar tools
  • Use SQL to extract, clean and analyse data from multiple sources
  • Create automated reporting frameworks to track performance against KPIs
  • Deliver digestible, executive-level reports and presentations to support decision-making
  • Develop historical benchmarks and visualise trends across key marketing metrics

Data Analysis & Strategic Insights

  • Use GA4, GTM, and ESPs (e.g. Mailchimp) to analyse campaign and customer behaviour
  • Identify actionable insights from marketing data to inform future strategy
  • Model customer lifetime value and forecast campaign ROI
  • Make data-led recommendations to optimise spend, targeting, and channel mix
  • Collaborate with Brand, Tech, and Marketing teams to ensure insights translate into impact.

Experience & Skills Needed

  • 4+ years’ experience in a digital, performance, or marketing analytics role within a high growth eCommerce or consumer business
  • Strong command of GA4 and Google Tag Manager, including advanced event tracking, custom triggers, and enhanced e-commerce configuration
  • Hands-on SQL skills and experience working with BI dashboards (e.g. Looker Studio, Power BI) to extract, visualise, and communicate actionable insights
  • Solid grasp of SEO best practices, including programmatic SEO, technical optimisation, and the evolving impact of AI on search visibility
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Tech, Brand, and Agency teams to implement and action data-driven recommendations
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
  • Strong commercial acumen, numeracy, and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with confidence presenting insights to senior stakeholders
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary up to £55,000 (depending on experience)
  • 6% company pension contribution (you contribute 5%) to help you plan for your future.
