Marketing & Communications Officer | Canterbury, Kent | Part-Time | 2–3 days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays), between 9am–4pm, with flexibility offered within core service hours | £28,650 pro rata

Our client is a local charity dedicated to improving life after brain injury. For over 30 years, they’ve supported adults across Kent living with the effects of acquired brain injury (ABI), helping them rebuild skills, regain confidence, and reconnect with their communities.

hey are looking for a creative, proactive, and digitally-savvy Marketing & Communications Officer to help raise awareness, drive engagement, and grow support for their work. This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate’s skills will directly impact people’s lives. From promoting their projects and services to building their brand and shaping their story, the officer will be part of a small but passionate team making a big difference.

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with project leads, the officer will plan and deliver effective marketing and communications across digital and print channels. Whether it's showcasing their rehabilitation services, recruiting volunteers, or launching new initiatives, the successful candidate will bring clarity, creativity, and a strong sense of purpose to everything they do.

What will your role look like?

  • Plan and deliver engaging digital campaigns to raise awareness of brain injury and Headway Kent’s impact
  • Create content for our website, newsletters, social media, and printed materials
  • Build and manage email campaigns using segmentation and automation to increase engagement
  • Maintain and update website content, supporting strong user journeys and SEO best practices
  • Design simple digital assets
  • Monitor and report on the performance of campaigns, using data to guide decisions
  • Coordinate social media and advertising activity to support fundraising and outreach goals
  • Work collaboratively with staff, clients, and volunteers to tell real stories that resonate
  • Support PR and media outreach, including writing press releases and liaising with local media
  • Help build our supporter base through lead generation and targeted campaigns
