Location:Middlesbrough (Office-based)

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

About the Company

Alt Labs is a fast-growing innovation consultancy and digital product studio working with startups, scaleups, and FTSE 100 firms. Our work sits at the intersection of creativity, technology, and real-world impact. We’ve helped launch over 280 ventures, secured millions in funding for startups, and worked with brands like The FA, LNER, Transport for Wales, and UCL.

We’re now looking for a Marketing & Communications Lead who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, shape our voice, grow our reach, and connect us to the right people in the right rooms.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Marketing & Communications Lead who can set a clear strategy and roadmap, craft copy and supporting visuals, build concise & compelling decks, and run end-to-end campaigns.

This role will be responsible for company outreach across the innovation consultancy, digital product development, and business ecosystem arms of the business. Additionally, this role will lead on the delivery of in-person events including business network meetups, roundtables and showcases across the UK, with the potential to expand internationally.

Key Responsibilities

·Crafting and delivering clear, bold messaging for our innovation consultancy and digital ventures.

·Running brand, product and content campaigns across our preferred channels and mediums (LinkedIn, printed collateral and filmed content).

·Managing and developing the Marketing team.

·Managing the end-to-end delivery of business networking events and founder showcases.

·Developing marketing strategies for our accelerator programmes and startup initiatives.

·Supporting proposal development, thought leadership and public speaking opportunities.

·Working with our design and delivery teams to tell the story behind our product portfolio.

·Building a network of ecosystem partners, event organisers, venues and journalists.

Qualifications

·3+ years in a marketing, communications or branding related role – agency or startup background preferred.

·Experience in a hands-on, delivery focused role; with the ability to execute, not just oversee.

·Strong understanding of digital and tech sectors with the ability to think commercially.

·Experience in planning and running events from a strategic and logistical perspective.

·Comfortable juggling multiple projects in fast-paced environments

·Experience working with creatives, product teams and execs.

·Proficiency with Office365/Google Suite, Figma/Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools such as Monday, Asana and Trello.

Further Details

·This is an in-office role.

·29 days annual leave (inc. bank holidays + your birthday!).

·Year-end festive period shutdown.

·Free coffee at Flok.
