CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term, Full-time (3 months)

LOCATION: Broadcasting House, London

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,400 - £30,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The BBC Proms is the biggest classical music festival in the world. We run over 100 live events over 2 months in the summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London and venues around the UK. Nearly everything we do is broadcast across BBC Radio, TV and online. We are a creative, innovative festival that connects with audiences around the UK and across the globe. You would be part of a dynamic team that looks after Live Events, Marketing, Learning, Communications, Publications and Business.

We’re looking for a dedicated and highly organised individual to support the Communications and Marketing teams for BBC Proms. In this exciting role, you’ll be at the heart of the action—managing press ticket allocations, collecting and collating all the key press cuttings, monitoring inbox enquiries, and assisting with digital content creation and syndication. You’ll also provide essential administrative support to keep everything running smoothly. With your sharp administrative skills, you’ll be the first point of contact for incoming enquiries, ensuring seamless coordination and project support. Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

  • Allocating press tickets and monitoring the press tickets inbox.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and ensuring media lists are up to date and providing administrative and project support where necessary.
  • Creating engaging digital content and supporting the running of social media channels in collaboration with the wider BBC Proms team.
  • Collecting and collating all the key press cuttings for the BBC Proms 2025 and distributing to key stakeholders
  • Supporting the coordination of events, press conferences and briefings, previews and requests for interviews.
  • Providing required information and writing copy to high standards of accuracy and on time.
  • Contributing to evaluation of work, collecting and analysing data and working with colleagues to assess impact of marketing and communications.

Essential Criteria

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A passion for live music.
  • Experience in marketing or communications.
  • Experience of using social media and digital tools to promote content and engage new audiences.
  • The ability to manage own workload effectively and assess priorities to meet conflicting deadlines, often at short notice and under pressure.
  • Ability to write crisp, clear and lively copy for a range of audiences.

Desired But Not Required

  • Ability to edit and produce digital assets using video editing software.
  • Experience of organising and managing events.
  • Knowledge of social media content creators.
