Job Summary
This vacancy is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship. Please do not apply unless you have another means of establishing a right to work.
This vacancy may close early if we receive a high volume of applications, so we recommend applying as early as possible to ensure consideration.
At NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), marketing plays a critical role in revolutionising public attitudes towards donation across the UK. Through engaging activities and campaigns, we aim to encourage more people than ever to give the gift of life by registering to be organ donors. This is especially important in Wales, where we need to reconnect society with organ donation since opt-out law was introduced 10 years ago. That’s why we need a multi-talented marketing manager to spearhead the activities and campaigns that will get us there.
You’ll be at the heart of our efforts to raise awareness of organ donation across Wales. This stand-alone role provides a huge amount of autonomy as you will develop, own and deliver the marketing and communications strategy for the region. Your excellent communication skills and ability to spot brilliant opportunities to highlight organ donation will ensure this is a job where no two days are the same. From representing NHSBT at national events to engaging local media, you will collaborate with a variety of teams and organisations providing sound leadership for our marketing efforts in Wales.
As there is no paid budget for this role, you will possess creative thinking and strong influencing skills which mobilise organisations and communities to get behind donation. Through collaboration with NHSBT specialists including the national marketing, social media and communications teams, you will ensure your strategy is aligned and evaluations are in place. You will also be supported by specialist organ donation nurses based in the region.
It’s busy but extremely rewarding work that will ultimately save and change lives for the better.
We are looking for someone to join us part-time (working 3 days a week) who really understands the Welsh culture and media. If you are passionate about making a difference in society and are happy to travel around Wales for events and meetings we would love to hear from you! Based in England? No problem, as long as you are willing to work in and travel across Wales when needed.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for engaging the public across Wales with organ donation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Willingness and flexibility to work irregular hours and to travel throughout Wales, including overnight stays when required (with appropriate prior notice). Requirement to occasionally participate in out of hours work which may include evenings, weekends or public holiday working (time off in lieu will be granted).
