Overview

A Rare Opportunity with an Award-Winning Legal Powerhouse

My client is a top-tier Band 1 Common Law set with a national reputation for legal excellence. With 82 members, including 16 King’s Counsel, and offices in Leeds and Newcastle, Chambers was recently named Chambers of the Year at the 2024 British Legal Awards and the 2025 Lexis Nexis Awards. They are also the UK’s first carbon-negative chambers and an active supporter of the 10,000 Black Interns initiative.

They are now seeking a strategic and driven Marketing & Business Development Manager to join their leadership team. This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape the future of a leading set, reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of business development and marketing strategies
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, including organising and attending events
  • Representing Chambers at strategic events to foster relationships and generate new opportunities.
  • Manage digital presence, directories, events, and campaigns
  • Collaborate to encourage marketing and business development initiatives
  • Strengthen client relationships across the legal and business community
  • Monitor market trends, client feedback, and competitive positioning

  • Proven experience in client facing business development, preferably in the legal or professional services sector
  • Proven ability to identify and effectively capitalise on opportunities

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of a progressive and highly respected Chambers that values excellence, innovation, and social responsibility. This is a full-time position offered with a highly competitive salary, flexible hybrid working, with some national travel required.

Chambers operates in both Leeds and Newcastle, and occasional in-person attendance in Chambers will be required so as to build and maintain rapport with the members. Events take place nationwide on a roughly monthly basis, so suitable candidates must be willing and able to travel, primarily to major UK cities. Outside of these commitments, the role is predominantly remote, with home-based working available within the UK.
