Job Description

Based in our Birmingham office, working closely with the senior leadership team, Advisory business, and business generation team, the Business Generation Manager (BGM) will support the Birmingham senior leadership in market engagement and new business wins. Responsibilities include managing the Birmingham key client programme, positioning for bids and framework renewals, targeting new clients, and retaining existing ones.

The role involves developing brand and communication activities to engage the Birmingham marketplace, driving pipeline generation, and supporting the advisory practice's go-to-market strategies. It requires strategic oversight and hands-on involvement, working alongside the Senior Campaign Manager and regional BGMs to align activities with the UK vision and broader Business Generation community.

The Birmingham team handles complex programmes shaping regional infrastructure and real estate investments, offering a dynamic environment with opportunities to influence business direction.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  1. Supporting the strategic hub lead and SMT in driving business generation across sectors, key accounts, and pursuits within Birmingham.
  2. Ensuring an accurate and healthy sales pipeline, analyzing and challenging activity levels, and presenting insights to cost centre leads.
  3. Facilitating bid development for strategic opportunities, supporting bid teams, and maintaining high proposal standards.
  4. Supporting the Hub lead in identifying strategic targets, developing pursuit plans, and ensuring their delivery.
  5. Supporting key account plans and pursuits to drive activity and growth, aligned with Birmingham's brand plan.
  6. Identifying growth sectors, market trends, and translating these into effective campaigns locally and nationally.
  7. Developing brand activities to maintain and elevate our profile with current and target clients, including forums and events.
  8. Collaborating with the Senior Campaign Manager to maximize client-facing campaigns, generate pipelines, and include Advisory services in strategic bids.
  9. Supporting and championing national Business Generation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Recognized professional qualification or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, or business administration. A degree is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant experience and aptitude are prioritized.
