Edinburgh City Centre, Permanent, Full-time

People’s Postcode Lottery raises funds for good causes. Together with our charity partners and players, our team members help create a fairer, greener and healthier world. You could be part of this amazing mission as a Marketing Automation Specialist. Join our international team at the Postcode Lottery Group in the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany and Norway!

The Marketing Automation Specialist will be a subject matter expert in marketing technology – particularly Adobe CRM and related marketing automation platforms. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between our product and marketing teams, and internal stakeholders, ensuring the platform is configured, optimised, and leveraged effectively to drive business outcomes.

The Marketing Automation Specialist will focus on translating high-level objectives into detailed requirements, overseeing operational efficiency, and proactively identifying new opportunities to streamline campaigns and processes. Since real business value is realised only when end-users can effectively utilise the platform, this role requires excellent communication skills and empathy for both technical teams and business users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform and Process Analysis: Assess current Adobe CRM and marketing tools for inefficiencies and collaborate with stakeholders to document existing processes (AS-IS) and define future goals (TO-BE).
  • Requirement Gathering and Documentation: Collect and prioritise functional and non-functional requirements, write user stories, and maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure clear traceability from requirements to implementation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the main liaison between marketing, data, and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements and timely delivery of features; collaborate with the Selections team for data and campaign segmentation.
  • Change and Release Management: Perform impact and risk analysis for new features and integrations, oversee user acceptance testing and training, and manage change activities for smooth adoption by marketing teams.
  • Continuous Improvement and Strategic Support: Monitor platform usage, campaign performance, and user feedback to recommend improvements, stay updated with industry trends, and collaborate with Product Owners to shape the marketing technology roadmap, aligning it with business goals and ROI.
  • Marketing Automation Expertise: Proficient in Adobe CRM (Adobe Campaign, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) with expertise in campaign workflows, segmentation, personalisation, and deliverability best practices.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Skilled in breaking down complex problems into actionable steps and interpreting data to drive improvements and measure performance.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to empathise with stakeholders and build consensus.
  • Business Analysis and Documentation: Experienced in business process modelling, creating user stories, conducting impact/risk analysis, and documenting AS-IS/TO-BE processes.
  • Collaboration and Technical Expertise: Collaborative team player with a solid understanding of marketing tech integrations and a growth mindset, eager to improve both technical and interpersonal skills.

Benefits of working with us:

  • You will receive a competitive salary, join an excellent pension scheme and benefit from private medical care.
  • We have a strong culture of learning and development. Our Lottery Academy offers an extensive range of training programmes and courses. There are also many career opportunities in the UK and abroad.
  • We enjoy working with one another. We regularly arrange social activities and organise our Christmas breakfast at the end of the year, a date everyone looks forward to, where we look back proudly at what we’ve achieved together.
  • Your wellbeing is important to us. That’s why we offer a variety of options including an in-house gym, with an optional weekly massage, and access to mental health support services.
  • You’re regularly involved in the work carried out by the charities thanks to the funds we raise for them. This includes volunteering, project visits, and presentations in our seminar space.

The Group Product team builds software for local lottery needs that integrates with the Group Product Tech ecosystem on the Postcode Lottery Group cloud according to Group Tech standards, processes, and tools. The department includes the following disciplines: Product Management, Product Design, Agile Specialism, and Product Research.

The Postcode Lottery Group is an international organisation with a social purpose. We set up and run lotteries to raise funds for a fairer, greener, healthier world.

Our players win prizes together with their neighbours and raise money for charity – it’s a win-win!

Since 1989, Postcode Lottery players have now raised over €12 billion for thousands of charities, making us one of the largest private charity fundraisers in the world.

Every day, more than 1,500 team members in the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany and Norway are helping to raise €2.3 million for charity partners.

People are at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s our team, our players, or the thousands of good causes we support, our aim is to play our part in creating a fairer, more equal world. We are open to ideas and are committed to creating a culture that is inclusive, representative, and celebrates diversity in everyone. But we are not perfect. We will always strive to do better – that’s just who we are.
