The Venue

The Bridgewater Hall is one of Manchester’s most prestigious cultural venues. Every year we host around 300 performances of classical music, rock, pop and other music-related and spoken word events. The building also provides a stunning location for conferences, meetings and other events.


About the Role

As our Marketing Assistant, you will play a key role in amplifying the venue’s visibility, enhancing its brand presence, and driving event attendance through creative and strategic marketing efforts.

Supporting the Marketing Manager and wider team, you will own and deliver administrative support, being the initial point of contact for key stakeholders, promoters and press.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Marketing team with promotional activities.
  • Maintaining the press database and issuing of press releases.
  • Social content calendar scheduling and inbox/comment management, with an opportunity to get involved with content creation.
  • Hosting of the welcome desk at International Concert Series concerts (approximately ten per year).
  • Creating and sending customer communication emails.
  • Receiving deliveries of marketing materials and arranging storage, managing internal and external displays.
  • General admin support and other duties requested by the Marketing team.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail (E)
  • Good organisational skills (E)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook email, Word and Excel) (E)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (E)
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (E)
  • Willingness to adapt to and stay abreast of emerging marketing trends (E)
  • Experience of using Meta applications (Facebook and Instagram) and other social platforms in a business capacity.
  • Experience of using Tessitura or other CRM systems, Wordpress and email marketing systems.
