Job description

Salary: up to £30,000 per annum

We are currently looking for a marketing assistant to join our Creative Engagement team on a full time fixed term basis until September 2026.

The Southbank Centre is Europe’s largest arts centre and one of the UK’s top five visitor attractions, occupying an 11-acre site that sits in the midst of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames.

The marketing assistant will support the Creative Engagement team in delivering inclusive campaigns that connect schools, local communities and underrepresented audiences with Southbank Centre’s vibrant programme.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Support the CE Marketing & Communications Manager to plan and implement marketing campaigns with clear objectives and timelines
  • Create, draft, edit and coordinate marketing materials across digital, print and out-of-home formats
  • Work with the Southbank Centre Website team to maintain up-to-date content on the Southbank Centre website for all CE programmes
  • Gather and coordinate images, video, and stories from CE participants and partners to showcase the impact of the programme across various formats
  • Undertake marketing outreach to niche or underrepresented groups relevant to specific CE strands

Key skills that will help you in this role include:

  • An understanding of and/or experience in arts marketing or community engagement communications
  • Demonstrative written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail, and proven ability to write, edit, and adapt content across a range of platforms and formats
  • Understanding of the role of audience insight and campaign evaluation in shaping effective marketing.
  • Demonstrative organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
  • Awareness of how to create inclusive, accessible and audience-specific communications
