Media and Marketing Assistant

Full Time, Permanent

Monday-Friday, 8.30am – 4pm

Term time - 43.6 weeks per year

Salary: £24,793 - £27,628 according to qualifications and experience, with potential for advancement subject to review.

The Gregg Schools are seeking a new member for their evolving Marketing and Admissions team. This person will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the schools’ digital presence and other marketing duties.

At The Gregg Schools, we highly value our staff. This role offers a competitive salary, a beautiful working environment, potential for flexible working, and is mainly term time (15 days to be worked across school holidays). Previous experience is essential, but additional training can be provided.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at our Secondary school (SO18 3RR) but may also work at our Preparatory school (SO17 1EJ).

Job summary:

The Marketing and Media Assistant supports the Marketing and Admissions team in promoting a professional and positive image of the Schools, ensuring branding consistency and quality in all communications. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, managing social media and online listings, website updates, content creation, campaign execution, and monitoring performance while staying updated on industry trends.

  • Willingness to work outside normal hours for school trips, notices, or campaigns.
  • A team player willing to support both digital and offline marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Management
  • Creating and scheduling content for The Gregg School, The Gregg Prep School, and the Alumni Association.
  • Managing relationships with social media agencies.
  • Researching and costing advertising media.
  • Engaging with followers and responding to comments.
  • Monitoring and analyzing social media performance.
Website Management
  • Ensuring the website is regularly updated with accurate information.
  • Developing website content to reflect the schools and brand values.
  • Managing relationships with third-party website providers.
Content Creation
  • Assisting with writing, editing, and proofreading marketing materials.
  • Creating visuals and graphics using design tools.
  • Sourcing relevant content from stakeholders.
Campaign Support
  • Developing and executing marketing campaigns.
  • Monitoring and reporting on campaign and website performance.
  • Assisting with media planning and buying.
Industry Awareness
  • Monitoring industry trends and best practices.
  • Staying informed about new platforms and tools.
  • Researching competitors.
Administrative Support
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Sourcing promotional materials.
  • Producing newsletters for parents and alumni.
  • Supporting marketing events like Open Mornings.
  • Managing content on school display screens.
Other Duties
  • Performing other duties within the role of Marketing and Media Assistant.
  • Adhering to safeguarding policies to promote and protect the welfare of children and young persons.
