A community-focused organization in York is seeking a part-time Marketing and Events Supervisor. The role involves overseeing customer service, managing events, and supporting operations. Candidates should have strong communication skills, experience in team supervision, and a passion for marketing. This role is a part-time position, working over 3 days (up to 21 hours), as part of a job share. Duties will be shared with the other part-time Marketing and Events Supervisor.
Our vision is for people of all ages to come together and enjoy a safe, social, and inclusive environment. We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to support the Folk Hall Managers in achieving this vision through excellent customer service and developing relationships with stakeholders.
The role involves the operational day-to-day supervision of the Folk Hall Customer Service team, focusing on Marketing and Events, as well as overseeing the management of the shop, reception, and bookings. Our events program includes community groups, regular activities, corporate bookings, and weddings — no two days are the same!
This position includes regular evening and weekend work on a rotational basis, supporting the Post Office, and taking operational responsibility for the Folk Hall building, events, and activities in the absence of the Folk Hall Managers.
This is an exciting and challenging role for someone experienced in working with people and communities. You should be flexible, creative, motivational, with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
You should have a passion for marketing, especially digital channels, and understand the importance of marketing tools.
A flexible, customer-focused approach is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and see tasks through. You should have a proven track record of supervising and motivating a team, with experience in cash handling.
You will be the first point of escalation for staff and user inquiries, reporting urgent matters to the Folk Hall Manager on call.
