The Broome Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) is seeking a creative and results-driven Marketing and Communications Manager to join our passionate team. This is a rare opportunity to live and work in the stunning Kimberley region while driving meaningful economic development and supporting a strong local business network.

About the Role

As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will lead the delivery of clear, engaging, and strategic communications across all Chamber platforms, including Broome Chamber, Love Broome, and the Kimberley Business Network. You’ll take ownership of our digital presence, branding, campaign management, media relationships, and graphic design while also mentoring junior staff and collaborating across our team.

This role suits a marketing all-rounder who loves to get hands-on with content creation, strategy, design, and community engagement. Someone who is as comfortable behind a camera as they are writing a media release or creating graphics for our event programs.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

Manage BCCI’s multi-channel presence: social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Google), EDMs, and website content

Run paid advertising campaigns and monitor analytics

Maintain key member-facing platforms and agreements (e.g., social media and crisis communication for contracted stakeholders)

Coordinate media partnerships and sponsorship deliverables across print, radio, and TV

Draft media releases and commentary with the CEO and President

Oversee monthly newsletters, internal updates, and targeted campaigns

Design & Content Creation

Lead the design and production of the annual Love Broome Directory

Produce event collateral (programs, merchandise, etc) and promotional materials

Create on-brand social, web, and event graphics using Adobe InDesign and Canva

Supervise and mentor junior staff supporting marketing

Digital Asset Oversight

Update and maintain content across multiple BCCI-managed websites

Liaise with external IT providers and troubleshoot office systems

Ensure consistency across digital and print branding

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in marketing, communications, or graphic design (ideally 5+ years)

Strong writing skills for media releases, newsletters, and copywriting

Familiarity with tools like Canva/Adobe Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, Meta Business Suite

Great attention to detail, creative flair, and project management skills

A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, small-office environment

A passion for supporting regional business and living in the Kimberley

Location: Broome (office-based only – no remote work)

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 + Super (commensurate with experience)

Hours: Full-time (Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30pm with overtime after hours expected for events)

Start: Immediate or negotiated start date
