Woodside Group Ltd is seeking a dynamic Communications professional to connect with schools, local authorities and communities. You will listen to schools, capture stories from outdoor learning centres and design creative ways to share them with parents, staff and stakeholders.
You will develop recruitment content, manage digital campaigns, and use analytics to prove impact. You’ll work closely with the Head of Communications to shape campaigns, plan strategically and own projects end-to-end
Someone who acts as the key connector across our entire community-someone who spends their days listening to our schools, discovering the brilliant things happening in our outdoor learning centres, and bringing those stories to life. Reporting to the Head of Comms, a dedicated Marketing Lead bridges our overarching vision with the unique heart of every individual school. By building deep, trusting relationships with our teams, they take the incredible work done on the ground every day and design thoughtful, creative ways to share it with parents, future and current staff, Local Authorities and our wider communities. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, they make sure each distinct audience feels spoken to directly, all while celebrating the local character of every school and keeping us proudly united under one shared purpose (mission).
That's why we need someone who can bring together four things: Technical ability. Creative thinking. Strong relationships. And the ability to turn connection into meaningful outcomes.
You'll find the stories happening across our schools and bring them to life through video, photography, social media, podcasts and campaigns. You'll help produce Connect, develop recruitment content and find new ways to celebrate what makes each Woodside school special. We want someone who's curious, full of ideas and knows that the best content comes from genuine relationships.
You'll be confident turning ideas into finished work. That means managing our websites and social channels, filming and editing video, producing The Woodside Way podcast, designing materials and running digital recruitment campaigns. You'll also use analytics and feedback to understand what's working. The tools matter, but what matters more is how you use them to connect people.
You'll spend time getting to know our Headteachers, Heads of Base, colleagues and schools, building relationships that help everyone feel part of the wider Woodside Group. You'll also connect with universities, businesses, families, Local Authorities and community organisations. We want someone who listens, follows things through and builds the kind of trust that makes people want to work with us.
Great ideas need to go somewhere. You'll take ownership of campaigns and projects, manage your time, meet deadlines and make sure what we do has a clear purpose. Whether it's supporting recruitment, launching a new school or strengthening connections across the Group, you'll be able to show what we've achieved, what we've learned and what we could do better next time.
You'll work closely with the Head of Communications, but this isn't a role where you'll wait to be told what to do.
The Head is responsible for the overall direction of Communications, while you'll bring ideas, creativity and an understanding of what's happening across our schools and communities.
You'll contribute to planning, help shape campaigns and take ownership of agreed projects from start to finish.
Sometimes you work together, sometimes you'll lead on your own, and sometimes you'll challenge an idea because you've seen or heard something that could make it better.
We want someone who contributes to the direction of Communications, not simply someone who delivers the work.
We're looking for someone who is just as comfortable having a conversation with a Headteacher as they are editing a video, planning a campaign or looking through analytics.
Someone who enjoys being around people, asks questions, notices the little things and can see the bigger picture.
You’ll need to be organised, confident with creative and digital tools, comfortable managing different projects and willing to keep learning.
But above all, we're looking for someone who understands that the best communications start with people, not platforms.
You don’t need to know everything about Woodside on day one. You do need to want to understand our schools, our young people, our colleagues and the purpose behind what we do.
We're looking for someone who can bring people together, find the stories worth telling and turn great ideas into something meaningful.
At Woodside, Communications is about more than creating content or promoting our schools. It's about building connections, strengthening relationships and helping people understand what makes Woodside different., And through CHAT - Consistency, Humility, Authenticity and Transparency - you'll help us build the trust and connection that sit at the heart of Woodside.
If you're someone who loves creating, enjoys connecting with people and wants your work to have a purpose beyond the next post or campaign, we'd love to hear from you.
