Job description

Role Overview

Effective marketing and communications are essential to the OCU strategy. The role of MarComms Business Partner / MarComms Executive provides support to a variety of OCU divisions in the delivery of effective external marketing and internal communications activities.

Organisation and production of regular content is a core element of the role, as is providing support to the Marketing and Communications Director on a wide variety of projects, communicating to internal and external stakeholders.

The role will deliver strong and innovative projects to promote the business brand, services and mission through a variety of channels including web, social media, advertising, email, and other channels.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Producing content, performing research and undertaking interviews to gain valuable insight from our experts and senior people.
  2. Case study development – through site visits and interviews with key personnel.
  3. Creation of visually impactful assets including PowerPoint presentations.
  4. Devising and creating ways to build authentic and innovative content.
  5. Recommend content updates to social media pages to drive an increase in followers and engagement.
  6. Regular maintenance/updates of all websites.
  7. Support Marketing & Communications Director in the delivery of content plans (both external and internal) including social media, websites, blogs, newsletters and more.
  8. Gathering information from a variety of sources to inform content and stories.
  9. Travelling when required to our various depot/office locations to gain insight from our experts/specialists or to undertake detailed information gathering.
  10. Measurement of activities and providing recommendations for on-going improvement.
  11. Monitoring documentation to ensure on brand and in line with messaging and values.
  12. Support the delivery of impactful campaigns related to recruitment and retention, wellbeing and other HR and people related topics.
  13. Reviewing, proofing and editing of content from MarComms and other teams.
  14. Mentorship and support to our Marketing Assistant/Apprentice.
  15. Support Marketing & Communications Director in the planning and delivery of a variety of projects.
  16. Other duties and project work as required.
Minimum Requirements

  1. 5+ years’ experience within a similar position required.
  2. Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  3. Experience in development of Tender bid or Annual Report documentation.
  4. Experience of both External Marketing and Internal Communications.
  5. Ability to create engaging content - both written and visual.
  6. Strong project management experience.
  7. Strong copywriting skills.
  8. Creative PowerPoint experience.
  9. Experience with Adobe Creative suite advantageous– InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro.
  10. HTML/CSS and CMS knowledge advantageous.
  11. SEO/PPC experience advantageous.
  12. Experience with video content campaigns advantageous.
  13. Experience of Google Analytics and other digital reporting tools advantageous.
  14. Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, social media, email marketing tools.
  15. Excellent time management, organisational skills and the capability to produce high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  16. Ability to prioritise workload and manage expectations.
  17. Team mentorship experience advantageous.
  18. Willingness to travel when business needs require.
  19. Full UK drivers licence.
