Job Purpose

The Marketing and Communications Assistant will support the execution and development of our marketing strategies and will play a pivotal role in enhancing our brand’s presence across multiple platforms. The successful candidate will also mentor and manage junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive environment within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing and Communications Strategy Execution: Assist in the implementation of marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and market penetration. Collaborate with senior staff to refine messaging and outreach efforts. Going to sites to build portfolio and build relationships.
  • Content Creation and Management: Develop and manage content across various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and the company website. Ensure all content is on-brand and aligns with overall marketing goals.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in organising and executing events such as conferences, seminars, and exhibitions to promote company services and achievements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor, analyse, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and communications efforts to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and manage the marketing and communications apprentice and business admin apprentice, ensuring their personal growth and professional development align with departmental goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure aligned marketing efforts and comprehensive brand representation.
  • Budget Management: Help manage the marketing budget, ensuring all marketing activities are cost-effective and deliver maximum return on investment.

Qualifications And Skills

  • A qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role, preferably in the engineering, construction, or related sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership qualities and experience in mentoring or managing junior staff.
  • Ideally worked in construction industry.
