Job summary

Verian Group is seeking a Social Market Research Interviewer to conduct face-to-face home interviews across the designated area. You will visit participants, explain study importance, and record responses using a handheld device. Training is provided and DBS/Right to Work checks are required.

The role is part-time and casual with shifts that fit around your life; travel expenses are covered, and additional incentives apply for performance.

Qualifications

• Over 18 and personable with good communication skills.
• Valid UK driving licence; car preferred outside London.
• Willingness to travel within the area and use handheld devices for data entry.
• DBS checks, identity verification and Right to Work in the UK required.

Face to Face Social Market Research Interviewer – Mobile (travel up to 30 miles)

Have you ever wondered where headlines like “36% of Britons think the government should reduce income tax” come from? That's where you come in.

As a Social Market Research Interviewer, you will visit people in their homes, gather their views on topics that matter, and record responses using a provided device.

Every conversation counts – your work helps shape decisions on crime, health, education, and more – influencing policies that impact millions across the UK.

What you will do

• Knock on doors, engage with people, and explain why their opinions matter
• Use our device to record responses accurately
• Travel within the geographic area available for work, usually up to 30-40 miles with mileage paid
• Make participation easier: advance letters sent to participants, and you can book appointments that work for both sides

What we’re looking for

• Over 18, confident, and personable
• A valid UK driving licence and a car is required if working outside the London area
• Comfortable using handheld devices – full training provided
• Successful applicants will complete DBS, identity, and Right to Work checks. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship
• No experience? No problem – full training provided
• Bonus points for sales or customer service experience, but not essential

Pay and working pattern

• You will start on hourly pay. After completing your introductory period (around 12 working weeks), you will move to Payment by Results (PBR), where earnings are based on completed interviews, plus bonuses and incentives.
• This is part-time, casual work, work availability varies throughout the year and opportunities cannot be guaranteed

• Includes 12.07% holiday pay (equivalent to 20 days if working full time)
