Job Description

Market Procurement Manager

Join Philips to develop the procurement strategy for the capital expenditures for our world-class Healthcare Systems & Solutions business, focusing on our growth area of enterprise informatics.

You will need to take the lead in convincing senior partners that the suggested procurement route is the best for each bid Philips goes for.

Your role:

  • Developing and managing a strategic sourcing plan for each of your allocated category areas: Software and Hardware, Healthcare Systems & Solutions, and managed equipment services
  • Building and maintaining relationships with current and potential suppliers for your category areas, as well as key partners across our business
  • Developing a full understanding of the cost base within your categories, including reviewing whole life cost / total cost of ownership
  • Challenging the current cost base through negotiation, benchmarking, and tender activity as appropriate
  • Achieving agreed savings targets
  • Negotiating supply terms and contracts in line with standard terms and conditions
  • Bringing innovation to your category and new ways of working

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This role is an office role.

You’re right for this role if:

  • Previous relevant experience of sourcing in Industrial, Healthcare, and Medical environments
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience developing and sustaining relationships at all levels, both internally and within the supply base
  • Proven ability to undertake whole life cost / total cost of ownership analysis, summarise results, and make recommendations based on those results
  • Tried-and-tested ability to deliver in a pressured environment against defined savings targets
  • Experience working within a large matrixed organization a huge plus
  • Experience within a dynamic environment, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Excellent stakeholder management

If DBS Required: Due to the role working in the healthcare environment, a standard DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) criminal record check will be required for this role.

If you’re interested in this role and have many, but not all, of the experiences needed, we encourage you to apply. You may still be the right candidate for this or other opportunities at Philips. Learn more about our commitment to diversity and inclusion here .
